The latest Singularity ritual is completed, and the might of Derlich is the focus.
Derlich productions are always stark, austere, brutal affairs, and this is no different.
I never promised you a rose garden is a non stop assault. Tight metronome kicks, electrical slices, white noise cymbals, machinery and metal objects collide, forming a hypnotic but relentless audio piece.
Triangulation appears at the beginning to be an almost conventional techno track, starting with typical 4x4 drums, but it isn't too long before the chaos descends. Noise touched monochromatic strings enter the fray along with clanking percussion, building and building to a frenetic level pushing the mind down into submission.
Fading memory is a somewhat calmer track, with broken kick rhythms and metallic resonances backed by rhythmic noise.
Halfway through a strange melody begins, giving the track an unsettling quality, as it seems half joyous, yet half paranoid. A great moment to disorient the listener.
The remix of Rose garden, from Voidloss is percussively driven by huge distorted drums providing a concrete solid groove.
The track builds with a feedback cacophony that causes the teeth to grind, and then switches up quickly at the break with a messy acid line, taking things back into a more groove based section, before the feedback rises up again for a final frenetic push.
The Casual Violence remix of Triangulation takes everything into a more pensive place. Gentle noise washes and subtle echoey drums slowly build to be surrounded with a slow electronic melody. Epic and filmic this could easily be the soundtrack to a dark and brooding post apocalypse drama like The Road.
Singularity Recordings - Defying the transient.
